I’ve been going back and forth on this for months and I’m honestly driving myself crazy with indecision. My bathroom currently has this old garden tub that takes up way too much space and honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I actually used it for a bath instead of just showering in it. The problem is, stepping over that high tub wall to get in and out has become a real struggle, especially as I’m getting older and my knees aren’t what they used to be. I’ve been thinking about ripping it out and putting in a nice walk-in shower with a bench and some built-in niches for shampoo bottles, something that would be safer and more functional for daily use. But part of me worries that I’ll miss having a tub if I get rid of it, even though I barely use it now. I’ve heard that removing a tub can sometimes hurt resale value because families with young kids want a tub for bathing children, but I’m not planning on moving anytime soon so maybe that shouldn’t be my biggest concern. I’ve been looking at photos of beautiful showers with frameless glass doors and gorgeous tile work, and I can really see it working in my space if done right. I just need to find someone who knows what they’re doing and can help me figure out the best layout and materials for my budget. I’ve been researching walk-in shower remodeling Menlo Park and trying to get a sense of what’s possible and what things cost. Has anyone here made the switch from tub to shower and regretted it? Or did you love the change and wonder why you didn’t do it sooner? I’d love to hear both sides before I make my final decision.
